Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the Blackmail app ("Blackmail", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The Service

Blackmail is a focus app. You add a photo of yourself, start a focus timer and put your phone face down. If you pick up your phone before the timer ends, friends you have added in the app can see your photo until you hide it. There are no public pages: your photo is only ever shown to your accepted friends.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these Terms where you live. You sign in with your Apple ID and are responsible for activity on your account.

4. Your Content

• Only add photos of yourself that you have the right to share.
• Do not add photos of other people, children, nudity or sexual content, violence, hate symbols, or anything illegal.
• You keep ownership of your photo. You give us a limited licence to store it and show it to your accepted friends as described above, which ends when you delete it or your account.

5. Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content and Abuse

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, shame or impersonate anyone
• Share, screenshot or redistribute a friend's photo outside the app, or use it to embarrass or pressure them
• Upload content that is sexual, violent, hateful, defamatory or illegal
• Misuse, disrupt or try to gain unauthorised access to the service

You can block any user and report any user or photo from inside the app. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove offending content and suspend or ban users who break these rules.

6. Your Choices

You can hide or delete your photo, remove or block friends, and delete your account at any time from Settings.

7. Disclaimer

Blackmail is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. You use it voluntarily and choose who can see your photo. We are not responsible for embarrassment or other consequences that result from your friends seeing a photo you chose to add.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms. You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

10. Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. If changes are material we will let you know in the app. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept them.
